CANADA COUNCIL ART BANK PURCHASE

On June 20th 2011 it was announced that Paolo Fortin's "Hillside Town" was selected to be one of 52 new works acquired by the Canada Council Art Bank. The purchases include works from all regions of Canada and include paintings, photographs, sculptures, and drawings, worth a total value of $303,025. The selection committee chose the works from 1,875 submissions received.

The April 2011 issue of CANADIAN GEOGRAPHIC turns it's attention to Canada's National Parks and the Parks Canada Centennial. Kenny's article "Art in the Park" focuses on artists Jane Isakson, Joyce Majiski, Paolo Fortin and Katharine Harvey as well as Parks Canada's visual arts residency programs in Ivvavik National Park and Gros Morne National Park.
